Under Construction

June 15th 2008 03:03

Ok so I have been posting every week with my thoughts and opinions and I will sit down here on the Saturday night / Sunday morning and write about whatever comes into my head. But I think that it is time to shake things up a little.

I am going to try and write my posts on word during the week and them upload them to the blog that should give me more time to construct a post.

Also I am going to have Veiw of the Week I will point you in the direction of a film or TV show that I have watched or want to highlight that week.

Book of the Week will be in the same spirit but will be books graphic novels .

Game of the week is video game / RPG.

Also I will be talking more about my writing and looking at geeky stuff in the news.

I have other things planned for the future but I will keep all this for the moment.

So having said all this I have come to realize that blog is an unusual exercise, you are not quite keeping a diary and you are not quite writing an article and I have to be aware that whoever is reading the blog may not know everything that I am talking about.

I like the opportunity to write something every week and be able to talk about geeky stuff on a regular basis.

But I have to say that the weirdest thing that I never considered is how reliant I become on comments it is almost as if I measure my success or failure of a blog on if I receive comments.

I don't really have a conclusion to this line of thought at the moment but it is at the forefront of my brain.

View of the Week
[BIncredible Hulk[/B] this is what the first film should have been. I am not saying that I was dying for a homage to the TV Series but the spirit of the comic book and the sense of fun that this film displays is better than the first film.

Read of the Week
Future Noir by Paul M Sammon Great book only 49 pages in and already know more about Phillip K Dick than i did before and how Ridley Scott came to be involved. Great book about a fascinating film.

Game of the Week
D & D 4th EditionThank god for this game. Unlike a lot of other players I was not a big fan of the complexity of 3rd Edition. It caused me more headaches as a DM then I have had in a while. This is not the fault of the players it is more the fault of me not being able to get my head around the complexities of a game that if you dont have a full understanding of will chew you up and spit you out. Not everything is perfect I am not a fan of the multiclassing option and Dragonborn dont feel a natural fit. But everything else is A grade from me.

Writing Report
In the middle of the second draft of my novel and also have to send contracts back to Bascoe publication for postcard series. Also I have to finish my application to Clarion south.
