That Old Black Magic

So I used to run the Star Wars RPG by West End Games it is referred to as the D6 system. This was the system for Star wars from 1987 - 1999.
I started Role Playing with A D & D 1st Edition and didn't really understand the rules and then I moved to canberra and I played a wide verity of games. Most of the game I played GURPS as it was the most popular game of the time in the game group.
I then moved to my father's in a small town. I was the only gamer that I knew and in the small town I had Star Wars RPG. I started to run the game with my mate Travis.
That started a five year period of running Star Wars D6. I got a high level of understanding of the system.
I then went to D & D and since 2000 I have been running D & D. This is a system that I couldn't wrap my head around the rules (this was 3rd Edition).
I lost track of Travis when I left my father's house.
Well last year I ran into Travis again and I found to my delight that we still have a great report.
Well being the gamer that I am, after discovering that Travis and his friends were big fans of BSG and Firefly.
I struck on the idea of playing an RPG with these guys so I suggested it to the group.
I wanted to run a game that combined Firefly and Battlestar.
They were interested and I sat down to think about what I was going to run the game with.
I have several sci - fi roleplaying games.
I struck on the idea of running Star Wars D6.
I would change it up a little but use the system.
I spent some time rewriting the system so that it would be a word document. I got to page 70 in a word document and then my computer crashed all that work was lost.
Then I got closer to the game. I went to a site called RPG Now and they offered D6 Space a new version of the star wars system.
I brought the game and printed it out and got it bound.
Well last night I ran D6 Space and it went beautifully.
The players had a good time and I that old feeling of comfort kicked in.
I knew the system and understood it enough to run the game.
It was a great moment for me.
