Playstaion 3

Well after a few months of deliberation and consideration of the needs of other members of the house I am now a proud owner of the PS3.
Now this was not an easy decision. I own an X-Box and have been more than happy with the games that i have on that system and HALO, KOTOR and FABLE made the time spent getting one worth it.
But when I looked at getting a next gen console I was faced with a number of things to consider.
1) HALO 3 & FABLE 2 both on the 360 and I don't imagine that these games will be released on PS3.
2) Star Wars The Force Unleashed. This was my ticking clock. The one game that I had to have however it was going to released in multiple platforms.
3) Blu - Ray player. If I am going to spend the money on a next gen console if I can watch HD films on it then that means that I dont have to purchase a separate Blu Ray player. The only real option for this is the PS3. What i discovered through investigation was that the PS3 was rated the best Blu - Ray player on the market.
4) Price. I wanted to get the most bang for my buck. Wii was probably the best choice for this but again no Blu - Ray.
5) Games (What can I play on my machine)
6) system power and potential. If you look at the life of a console the games that you get five years in are different from the games that you get in year one. I wanted to get something that would really give me impressive gaming year after year.
So looking at all these factors I was leaning toward the 360 a couple of things concerned me. No definite release date on the Blu Ray. I mean come on! HD DVD died and I dont want to be stuck with a Beta Max. The 3 rings of Death. This is a worry, I mean I dont want to be in the middle of an important game getting ready to break through hours of game play and then.
CRASH.
Then the amazing other half and i were looking for a HD Tv and we saw the Bravia deal buy a TV get a PS3. I could accept that, great value and I would get a next gen console (Not my first choice but why not.)
We decided that we would wait a while for the HD Tv, yet I was left with the choice of getting a next gen console PS3 had wormed it's way in. The game selection was light but the idea of getting a Blu ray and a console is pretty tempting.
So I went to JB Hi Fi and spoke to the guy there about what deals they have going.
And after seening both Assassins Creed and Oblivion for sale for PS3 along with Marvel Alliance and Force Unleashed I was sold.
I took home 2 controllers, Blu - Ray remote, 3 Blu Ray discs and Assassins Creed for just under $900 and I am pretty happy with the results.
I discovered the internet connectivity and was able to download demo's for free and and got the Demo for Force Unleashed!!!!
Man I love my PS3.
Anyone want to have a need for speed carbon match im up for it.
Read of the Week
The Ultimates Vol 1 & 2 Ladies and gentlemen I present one of the best avengers stories ever told. Also this is the place that you get to see where the Sam Jackson as Nick Fury came from.
View of the Week
The Illusionist A film that i had missed in the cinema's in favor of The Prestige. Not a bad film. Edward Norton and Paul Giamatti are very good in this film of stage magic and love. Rufus Sewell again plays a villain. I would love to see him as a hero again.
Game of the Week
THE FORCE UNLEASHED Kicking ass with the force. That is all you need to know.
I had two people giggling with glee just playing the demo.
